Who Is CARF?

Thank you for visiting our  Internet site.  We want to give you the opportunity to stay in touch with our registered charity and current research.

As of December 2002, a new Bermuda cancer charity, CARF ( Cancer Assistance Research Foundation) was registered as charity #651.

CARF is founded on the ever alarming rate of a variety of cancers that are claiming lives of several on our Island. An abundant amount of resources, promotion and funding are allocated towards breast and prostate cancers.

However, there are an undsputed amount of other cancers that effect fellow Bermudians each year and under the age of sixty! The cancers I am referring to are: COLON, STOMACH, LYMPHOID, BRAIN TUMORS and others.

CARF will be providing assistance in three ways:

Financially, Educationally and Spiritually by instilling various methods of the I CAN BEAT CANCER approach....

                               CANCER DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE !!!!!

CARF will educate and assist members in how to go about obtaining "CANCER INSURANCE."  After all each committee member knows firsthand what it is like to defeat or deal with a debilitating illness.

Our membership is ANYONE who is dedicated to the cause of CANCER assistance and CANCER research in Bermuda! 

Our network system can provide hope through holistic centers and other non conventional methods.  In addition, CARF can connect, victims with a variety of accredited out-reach programs for further support so that they may be enlightened to other options or treatments.  Not every hospital, drug or doctor is for everybody and that is what makes us individuals. For  CARF intends to make participants aware of these choices.

Our Research Consultant wishes to look into various research both in Bermuda and overseas. Surveys must be completed by all and compared with other cultures. Are certain cancers genetic, environmental or triggered intake? Is there any connection between Dr. Jamie Bacon's research into the deformities of our natural habitants, the Bermuda Toad and Toadlet populations and the spread of cancer on the island? These are some of the answers that CARF hopes to obtain.
